I was tagged in a note by a friend on Facebook a little while back, and I feel that this particular note is worth sharing with my faithful blog followers. All two of you :D. So here it is.
A Letter to Inspiration
By Theodore Oing
To my inspirations:
By the time you may read this, most of us will have graduated already. Within the next week or so, about half of us will be gone on trips all around the country, perhaps even the world. We've made it though, through this day of freedom and independence, and also of farewells. Mark the day: May 15th, 2010 is the day when our lives as we know it ends. But nothing truly ends, does it? They just start anew.
"Aeternum vale, nemo nisi mors." It's Latin, and the literal translation means "farewell forever, till death do us part." I was going to save the in depth explanation for when the book I've been writing would've been finished, but due to a recent intervention the night before graduation, I decided that this was the best time.
Graduation day may very well be the day where most of us will say good-bye to the people we've grown up with, because a great deal of us will inevitably spread out across the country, whether it's in the deserts of the West Coast, or maybe the frigid areas between the South and the North. Some of us, of course, won't be moving around and choose to stay, but either way, we'll inevitably say our good-byes.
This day may also mark the day where none of us will see each other again, after all, we're about to start a new life, reborn into the real world where the world's problems are now our problems. For me, I'll be saying good-bye to both people I've known for years, and others that I've regrettably have only begun to know. Yes, there are things like Facebook and cell phones that bridge the gap so that it's never truly 'farewell forever,' but call me old fashioned, but nothing compares to this feeling of being with the person face to face. Now it's the issue of the next phrase that creates a paradox, "till death do us part."
How is it that we can all say "farewell forever," and then follow up with "till death do us part." Let me ask this, how are we able to feel the presence of someone who has died? The simple answer is that it is essentially, undeniably, the supernatural feeling of love. As it is said in Latin, omnia vincit amor: love conquers all.
Love conquers adversity.
Love conquers hate.
Love conquers death.
The meaning is then changed from "farewell forever, till death do us part," to "farewell until love doesn't exist." You see, all of us aren't truly connected by presence, nor are we truly connected by technology; we're connected by the soul, and the essence of the soul is love. Without this feeling, we could never hope for peace, only for war, and without the feeling, the greatest acts committed by the world's heroes could never have been achieved. This is, essentially, the explanation that I've derived so far.
So, now we're about to enter the new life, probably saying our last good-byes to the people we've come to know as we leave for our new life, and perhaps we'll still be connected in a way because of our love for the people, now what? We live again. Maybe you're going to go to study at a place with 60,000 people, or maybe you're like me, who chose to study in a place with less than 3,000 people, either way. Whichever one you may choose, you're going to meet new people and start new relationships.
I urge all of you now, however, to do what you love in hopes of obtaining happiness. Success in life is not determined by the number of acts that you've achieved, nor is it based on the popularity gained; success in life is based on how happy you feel living life. Whether you want to study life, math, engineering, art, religion, history--whatever, do what you love, and wake up each day smiling. Sure, we'll hit trenches that'll take us over the edge at times, but keep the people you love close as well so they can pull you out of those dark times.
Now, I want to take the rest of the time I have to thank all of you who have helped me out physically, mentally, and spiritually. It's been great, especially the last few days. I never truly realized everything that I've been missing and the extraordinary people that I've only begun to know. For everyone that may read this, keep in touch so we could see what we'll turn into in the near future. I know I'm not the best at saying good-bye, or even giving out my last words of possible inspiration, but I want to congratulate all of you for making it this far, whether you are an alumni or about to be, and I wish all of you the best of luck with whatever the world may throw at you. Carpe diem, the world is ours.

Reflections of a Teenaged Drama Geek
I was recently looking back on my acting "career", and I noticed how much smaller my personal bubble has gotten. In my first play with the La Verkin Community Theatre there was a guy who was the co-director, his name was Zack. One of the practices I was supposed to get mad and be in someone else's face, but I wasn't doing it right. So, being the wonderful co-director that he was, Zack was trying to show me how to do it. He told me to get in his face, which totally freaked me out. This guy, who I barely knew, was asking me to get within inches of his face. So, I refused. He asked me why, and I plainly told him that I had a bubble. He ended up having someone else get in his face to demonstrate what I was supposed to be doing. I am now currently in the production of Robin Hood with the LCT, Zack is playing the part of Robin Hood. The very first day he was there I had a few parts where I had to be in his face. I boldly got in his face, and I think I scared him the first time... Oops... It's amazing how acting on the stage for 3-4 years can seriously shrink your bubble.
And that is the end of my reflection.

Curiosity Killed the Ears
OK, so, being the curious person that I am, I looked up Justin Bieber. I had been hearing a lot of people talking about him, been seeing his face on everything from Flair on Facebook to Magazines. He's a 17? yr. old kid who looks/sounds like a 12 yr. old. I watched 2 of his videos on Youtube and decided I don't like him or his music. Seriously, the only thing he seems capable of writing songs about is girls..... I feel bad for him... And the way the poor girls are portrayed in his videos and songs is just plain stupid! One line from one of his songs called Baby was, and I quote, "I'll buy you anything". Ha! Like any girl worth your time can be bought! It's so sad what society has said is "right" and "good"! There is so much more to life than money and members of the opposite gender! Grr..... So, basically what I got out of all that was Justin Bieber needs Jesus and someone to tell him about Jesus.... Well, enough of my ramblings for one day.

Ramblings of an Obnoxious 16 Yr Old Girl
OK, so today I realized that I haven't touched a computer for about a month... (For non-I-have-to reasons) I can't actually remember the last time I've gone that long without a computer. Yeah, I do have Internet on my phone, but it's not the same as actually BEING on the computer. Just little (or not so little) stuff like the million and five (My new favorite number by the way) requests in my Facebook request... Inbox?... Not to mention the fact that half of those requests have expired. I totally don't get that... For those of us who can't be on the computer everyday, it's a little hard to accept all the stinkin' requests before they stinkin' expire!
I think that's all I have to ramble about.... I think.... Wait! Nope, that's it.
Post later (I hope!)

Twenty-Ten
Wow, the year went by really fast. I know I haven't posted in a while.... It's not be cause I haven't had anything to write about, and believe me I've had some stuff to write about, it's mainly because I'm just lazy :D.... And I think Facebook may have something to do with it too....
Well to start with, In April of '09 My siblings and I were in a crazy scary car accident. We were on our way back to our church after a youth rally/capture the fag event when our car rolled anywhere from 3 to 6 times. We all walked away from the accident with superficial scratches and bruises, my brother and I both had sprained ankles but that was it. God definitely had His awesome hand in the whole thing.
Hmm..... I think the next big event in my life was in the month of June... My friend Kelly and I went on a missions trip to Casper Wyoming. It was put on by Word Changers. That was amazing! I got to learn how to roof a house. Very cool.....
The day after I got back, I left immediately for Teen Camp at Cedar Mountain Retreat. CMR is my most favoritest place in the entire world... Well camp was, as usual, AMAZING!
2 weeks after that, my friend Kelly invited me to go on another missions trip with her. This one was to a tiny town in Idaho called Challis. We did a soccer camp for a bunch of little kids. Lots of fun.... We also did a bunch work for the community, like painting park benches and park tables. it was tons of fun :D.....
A little while after that, we went to Sonfest..... I had a cold through the whole thing, which wasn't fun.... But Sonfest was amazing. We had tons of fun....
Hmm.... I can't think of anything too exciting after that.....
Christmas was fun, and surprisingly very relaxing... New Years on the other hand, wasn't.... We had company over, so my parents made us clean the entire house.... And my room.... But, the people we had over were awesome....
That's all I can think of for now.... Post later.... Hopefully......

Dear brothers take note of this; everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to become angry
