Reflections of a Teenaged Drama Geek

I was recently looking back on my acting "career", and I noticed how much smaller my personal bubble has gotten. In my first play with the La Verkin Community Theatre there was a guy who was the co-director, his name was Zack. One of the practices I was supposed to get mad and be in someone else's face, but I wasn't doing it right. So, being the wonderful co-director that he was, Zack was trying to show me how to do it. He told me to get in his face, which totally freaked me out. This guy, who I barely knew, was asking me to get within inches of his face. So, I refused. He asked me why, and I plainly told him that I had a bubble. He ended up having someone else get in his face to demonstrate what I was supposed to be doing. I am now currently in the production of Robin Hood with the LCT, Zack is playing the part of Robin Hood. The very first day he was there I had a few parts where I had to be in his face. I boldly got in his face, and I think I scared him the first time... Oops... It's amazing how acting on the stage for 3-4 years can seriously shrink your bubble.
And that is the end of my reflection.

Curiosity Killed the Ears

OK, so, being the curious person that I am, I looked up Justin Bieber. I had been hearing a lot of people talking about him, been seeing his face on everything from Flair on Facebook to Magazines. He's a 17? yr. old kid who looks/sounds like a 12 yr. old. I watched 2 of his videos on Youtube and decided I don't like him or his music. Seriously, the only thing he seems capable of writing songs about is girls..... I feel bad for him... And the way the poor girls are portrayed in his videos and songs is just plain stupid! One line from one of his songs called Baby was, and I quote, "I'll buy you anything". Ha! Like any girl worth your time can be bought! It's so sad what society has said is "right" and "good"! There is so much more to life than money and members of the opposite gender! Grr..... So, basically what I got out of all that was Justin Bieber needs Jesus and someone to tell him about Jesus.... Well, enough of my ramblings for one day.

Ramblings of an Obnoxious 16 Yr Old Girl

OK, so today I realized that I haven't touched a computer for about a month... (For non-I-have-to reasons) I can't actually remember the last time I've gone that long without a computer. Yeah, I do have Internet on my phone, but it's not the same as actually BEING on the computer. Just little (or not so little) stuff like the million and five (My new favorite number by the way) requests in my Facebook request... Inbox?... Not to mention the fact that half of those requests have expired. I totally don't get that... For those of us who can't be on the computer everyday, it's a little hard to accept all the stinkin' requests before they stinkin' expire!
I think that's all I have to ramble about.... I think.... Wait! Nope, that's it.
Post later (I hope!)

Twenty-Ten

Wow, the year went by really fast. I know I haven't posted in a while.... It's not be cause I haven't had anything to write about, and believe me I've had some stuff to write about, it's mainly because I'm just lazy :D.... And I think Facebook may have something to do with it too....

Well to start with, In April of '09 My siblings and I were in a crazy scary car accident. We were on our way back to our church after a youth rally/capture the fag event when our car rolled anywhere from 3 to 6 times. We all walked away from the accident with superficial scratches and bruises, my brother and I both had sprained ankles but that was it. God definitely had His awesome hand in the whole thing.

Hmm..... I think the next big event in my life was in the month of June... My friend Kelly and I went on a missions trip to Casper Wyoming. It was put on by Word Changers. That was amazing! I got to learn how to roof a house. Very cool.....

The day after I got back, I left immediately for Teen Camp at Cedar Mountain Retreat. CMR is my most favoritest place in the entire world... Well camp was, as usual, AMAZING!

2 weeks after that, my friend Kelly invited me to go on another missions trip with her. This one was to a tiny town in Idaho called Challis. We did a soccer camp for a bunch of little kids. Lots of fun.... We also did a bunch work for the community, like painting park benches and park tables. it was tons of fun :D.....

A little while after that, we went to Sonfest..... I had a cold through the whole thing, which wasn't fun.... But Sonfest was amazing. We had tons of fun....

Hmm.... I can't think of anything too exciting after that.....

Christmas was fun, and surprisingly very relaxing... New Years on the other hand, wasn't.... We had company over, so my parents made us clean the entire house.... And my room.... But, the people we had over were awesome....

That's all I can think of for now.... Post later.... Hopefully......

Crazy Amazing Weekend (WARNING: This post was written by a teenager who was half asleep)

Wow, what a weekend! This weekend we had our winter youth retreat. We had 60-65 teens crammed into one lodge-like structure in the snow. The food was awesome, the fellowship was awesome, and the speakers were awesome. Although my dad was pretty sure that Jason wasn't very nice after he gave his message..... The theme of the weekend was priorities. The priorities of our head, heart, and our hands. We played an awesome game called Michelin Man Wrestling. (Youtube link http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=opEBRpSKYR8) And Deal or No Deal. And we had a couple chat/ get to know you/ prayer sessions. I had Brittany, Ashalee, Sara, Misty, Jon Miles, Bryan, and Skyler in my group. So, as you can imagine it got pretty interesting...... We had lots of free time, so I played a lot of board games and card games. We had a karaoke night. It was like American Idol, it was goofy. We had our judges, Emery (Simon), Leann (Paula), and Candice (Randy). One of the groups did a song, and one of the guys in the group was married to Candice, and another one was married to Leann. So, being the dorks they are, Jon (Leann's husband) said, "I am finding myself very attracted to Paula tonight." And Bryan (Candice's husband) said, "I have never been this attracted to Randy before." It was hilarious! Another group did Mouth Like a Magazine by Showbread, and I kid you not, they looked almost exactly like the music video for that song. It was almost scary. (Showbread video for Mouth Like a Magazine http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Af8IVH-9Ok8 just in case you don't know what the video looks like.) Yeah, pretty exciting. And, yeah. That was my exciting weekend.

In total, I think I got roughly 7 hours of sleep this weekend. Six and a half of those hours were the second night. And I am still extremely tired. Yup, pretty amazing weekend.
